Abstract

The optimal duration of routine diagnostic electroencephalography (EEG) studies — diagnostic yield versus lab efficiency — has hardly been studied. The American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and International League Against Epilepsy recommend that EEGs last at least 20 to 30 minutes.
