Abstract

For the past several years’ oncology focused programing presented at the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has included a session entitled “Oncology Research Update: A Year in Review”. Speakers for this peer reviewed educational session select clinical studies and literature reviews published in the preceding year which, in their opinions, were particularly clinically relevant. For the 2020 CSM the speakers selected several publications which greatly enhanced the clinical utility of exercise training as a therapeutic modality for cancer survivors. The purpose of this review is to present the salient points and clinical importance of these selected publications in an effort to improve the level of care physical therapists and physical therapist assistants can offer cancer survivors.
