Abstract

Strategies to Support Under-Represented Students in STEM. Institutions of higher education have identified challenges in supporting and engaging traditionally under-represented students. This book combines a theoretical framework for understanding these challenges with case studies from diverse biology, biochemistry, and chemistry departments that have implemented strategies to address this need. Highlighting the generalizability of these approaches and the effectiveness of multi-pronged approaches, this book is a useful resource for faculty and administrators investigating these challenges or seeking to adopt changes at their institution.
