Abstract

The Community Service Activity (PPM) of Gadjah Mada University based on a Foster Village Development that has been conducted entitled “The Enhancement of the Productivity in Planting Indigofera Tinktoria Plant Seeds on Agricultural Land as a Producer of Natural Dyes in Pacarejo Village, Semanu District, Gunung Kidul Regency, D.I. Yogyakarta” is the second year of the Foster Village Program activity. This activity continues because it still needs strengthening and retraining directly in the field, so that Indigofera plant seeds can grow satisfactorily. Thus the Indigofera plant can be utilized as a whole to produce natural dyes and increase the people's economic revenue in Pagarejo Village in order to continue the welfare of the community. The outputs expected by the Village-Based Community Service Program Team in the second year of Pacarejo Village in order to achieve an independent village, including: 1). Realization of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for planting Indigofera tinctoria in an area of at least two hectares; 2). Development of a planting system, plant care, and harvesting methods with optimal and sustainable quality; and 3). The availability of natural dye raw materials from Indigofera tinctoria leaves that meet raw material quality standards and are sustainable. This activity aims to increase the productivity of farmers for Indigofera plant nurseries on agricultural land in order to expand the sustainable welfare. The methods used in the Fostered Village-Based Community Service Program in Pacarejo Village are Socialization, Group Discussion Forums (FGD), Training, and Direct Assistance.
