Abstract

AbstractStudies of the energy efficiency for ventilation systems with vortex regulation devices have been performed. The main schemes of ventilation units are considered: with a vortex regulation device in the pressure line, in a parallel line, in the suction line. The analysis of working processes for the presented schemes of ventilation units is carried out, the differences in the working processes of regulating the parameters of ventilation systems are noted. As the characteristics of the ventilator, the dependences for the total head on the flow rate, as well as the efficiency on the flow rate are used. These dependences are approximated by parabolas. To study the energy efficiency of ventilation systems with vortex regulation devices, the dependence of the relative power for the ventilator unit on the depth of flow rate regulation is considered as the regulation characteristic. The dependencies have been established and the method for calculating the regulation characteristics has been proposed. The example of calculating the regulation characteristics for ventilation system with the ventilator unit based on the ventilator VC 4–75 N 2.5 is given. The possibility of increasing the energy efficiency for the ventilation system by reducing the power consumption by ventilator unit is shown. This is achieved by decreasing the energy losses associated with the regulation process, and the amount of power reduction is determined by the installation scheme of the vortex regulation device.
