Abstract

Phase transition in Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) from 2H to 1T has attracted a considerable research interest in recent years due to its far exceeding unique potential applications. This paper describes the coexistence of 1T and 2H phases of MoS2 after microwave irradiation. The irradiation of microwaves on MoS2 can modify its structural and surface electronic properties. We have studied this behavior using X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis (UV) spectrophotometer and scanning Kelvin probe microscopy (SKPM). A change in the contact potential difference of 2H-1T phase MoS2 has been observed.
