Increased oxidative stress and impaired mitochondrial biogenesis and dynamics are improved by rice bran enzymatic extract diet supplementation

Abstract

Objectives: Diet supplementation with natural products rich in antioxidants, such as Rice Bran Enzymatic Extract (RBEE), can prevent atherosclerosis promotion through improvement of oxidative stress derived from mitochondrial dysfunction. Herein, we aimed to investigate the impact of RBEE diet supplementation on oxidative stress and mitochondrial biogenesis and dynamics during atherogenesis.
