Abstract

Soybean is one of the most popular cropin Indonesia. In the last five years, soybean production has decreased. Therefore, one way to increase the productivity and genetic variability of soybean is hand pollination. This study aims to see and observe the flower and the fertility of soybean pollen and to know the correct stages of crossing. This study was conducted by observing the morphology and physiology of Grobogan and Anjasmoro soybeans. Parameters observed were flower parts, crossing stage, and pollen fertility. The result of this study showed that Grobogan and Anjasmoro were monoecious. In the fertility test, several samples found that Grobogan and Anjasmoro flowers were 100% fertile. In performing hand pollination, there are several stages, as follows; the selection of male and female flowers, castration, emasculation, pollination, isolation, and labeling. Crosses of varieties between Grobogan and Anjasmoro have good enough success rate, which is equal 57.14%.
