Abstract

The frequency of partial heterozygotes was measured at different points of the T4 chromosome, using am- and rII-mutants. Two to three times more heterozygotes were formed in gene 34 and in gene 25 than in the rII-region or gene 23 resp. This finding is interpreted to be a consequence of increased recombination frequency in certain regions of the T4 DNA-molecule, in agreement with two other, independent sets of data (Womack, 1965; Mosig, 1966).
