Abstract
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a mitogen and a key regulator of angiogenesis. In vivo, it plays important roles in morphogenesis and chemoattraction, and is a powerful mediator for vessel permeability. The VEGF family of angiogenic molecules is involved in angiogenesis in both normal and pathologic conditions (1, 2).
