Abstract
The article reveals the relationship between the motor and volitional indicators of high school students, defines the methodological features of the use of martial arts in order to improve the motor capabilities and volitional manifestations of high school students in the process of physical education. It is shown that an important task of the school education system in modern realities is to maintain the optimal level of physical, mental and emotional state in crisis, dangerous and non-standard situations. A prerequisite for this is a sufficient level of motor and volitional potential of schoolchildren, which can be ensured with the help of physical exercises. among schoolchildren of all age groups, high school students have the greatest functional and psychological capabilities to act in dangerous and crisis situations. One of their ways of increasing the effect of physical exercises in school conditions is the introduction of modern and affordable sports that arouse interest and have a high applied value. It was determined that martial arts classes arouse lively interest among schoolchildren and students, especially males, and it is recommended to introduce them in the process of physical education. Despite the high traumatic nature of martial arts as contact sports, the importance of martial arts can be justified by the possibilities of a combined effect on the motor capabilities and volitional sphere of those who practice. The psychological and biological prerequisites for the formation of the content of physical education of 16-17-year-old boys with the use of rational parameters of motor loads are presented. The importance of using martial arts in physical exercise classes in high school is substantiated.
