Abstract
Fluorine, changing course: Challenging the actinorhodin minimal polyketide synthase (act-minimal PKS) with fluoroacetyl-CoA as a starter unit yielded a fluorinated octaketide intermediate that led to the selective formation of fluoro-SEK4b (see scheme); no fluoro-SEK4 was formed(not shown).
