Abstract

PREVIOUS studies in vivo on the incorporation of carbon-14 dioxide from carbonate into rat erythrocytes have demonstrated that this is widespread into globin, haematin and ghosts1. Some fractions of rat blood rich in reticulocytes can also incorporate carbon dioxide in vitro 2.
