Abstract

ABSTRACT The analysis of the complex social problems facing the Latino community is of special concern for multicultural social work. This paper introduces multidisciplinary theoretical models that can help explain how broad social, political, and economic systems shape the social welfare of Latinos. The paper draws on concepts from the social sciences, including sociology anthropology, feminist studies, and ethnic studies. The implications of incorporating social science theory to broaden social work's perspective on the Latino experience are discussed.
