Abstract
Unequal distribution of income is of high concern especially in the region of Latin America. President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela promised when he was elected president 1998 that he would eradicate poverty and increase standard of living through 21st Century Socialism. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the changes in income distribution since the Socialist president has been in power.
