Abstract

We present the inclusive and semi-inclusive spectra of charged particles in {ital pp} and {ital {bar p}p} interactions at an incident projectile momentum of 32 GeV/{ital c}, based on the full statistics of both experiments and obtained by means of the liquid hydrogen bubble chamber MIRABELLE at the Serpukhov accelerator. The spectra of charged particles are separated by a statistical method in the whole kinematically allowed region of phase space. Both inclusive and semi-inclusive cross sections of {pi}{sup {plus_minus}}, {ital p}, and {ital K}{sup {minus}} production in {ital pp} interactions are given. The differential cross sections are studied in terms of the Feynman variable {ital x}, rapidity, and transverse momentum. The results obtained strongly support the conclusion of the similarity of multiparticle production processes in {ital pp} and nonannihilation {ital {bar p}p} interactions. It is shown that the soft {ital pp} and {ital {bar p}p} interactions at the energies in question can be described at the quark-parton level in the framework of the quark-gluon string model. The derived particle spectra are compared with those at neighboring energies. The results of different phenomenological fits, including the hydrodynamical model predictions, are also listed.
