Abstract

Inclusive education is an issue in Europe since the end of the twentieth century. Neighboring countries with Serbia has significant experience in examples of good inclusive practice, primarily in educational and inclusive policy, legal regulations, in the implementation of inclusion models, support for inclusive education by the system, as well as in pointing out the difficulties in the implementation of inclusive practice and possible solutions. This paper analyzes the different models of inclusive education, the strategy of inclusive policies in the system of education in Europe and the countries of the region. The specifics within individual countries were outlined within the area of educational policy. Introducing the inclusive education policy in Serbia and on the basis of the analysis of presented models and strategies, the author gives suggestions for the improvement of educational policy in Serbia in the area of inclusion.
