Abstract

An efficient protocol for the synthesis of thiophene derivatives from β-ketothioamides (KTAs) and vinyl azides via [3 + 2] cycloaddition process catalyzed by InCl3 was developed. This new procedure combines the advantages of simple operation and wide tolerance of functional groups, which provides a highly fascinating protocol to access thiophene derivatives.
