Abstract

With growing environmental concerns, effective waste management strategies are crucial. In cities and suburban areas, the significant sources of such problems are Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and cement manufacturing. Recycling and reusing waste are better alternatives than direct disposal, decreasing possible risks and enhancing sustainability. One such method is using MSW incinerator bottom ash (MSWIBA) in cement and concrete manufacturing. This paper thoroughly examines the various methods employed to improve the utilization of MSWIBA in mortar and concrete applications. The study also investigates the impact of incorporating MSWIBA on the performance and properties of cement and concrete materials. Using MSWIBA in mortar and concrete production may have benefits and drawbacks. An overview of the production and MSWIBA properties are provided, along with information on the possible use of ash-incorporated green concrete in industrial applications and ultimately lowering environmental issues.
