Introduction

Detected tumours and subclinical disease of the endocrine organs have drawn much attention in current practice of endocrinology. Management of such lesions impose a clinical challenge to the physicians as the data on the prevalence, natural history and clinical significance of such lesions on morbidity or mortality are limited. As the incidence and prevalence vary according to the population studied and for the fact that such data on incidentalomas and subclinical disease of endocrine organs are not yet available for the Sri Lankan population, we planned to conduct a descriptive autopsy study.
