Abstract

In three female patients, 70, 72, and 81 years old, with proven large pituitary tumors, Tc-99m hexamethylpropylene amineoxime (HMPAO) brain SPECT was performed because of clinical signs of disturbed brain perfusion. In all three cases, an increased uptake was found in the pituitary tumor; to our knowledge, this has not been reported in the literature. We did not see an increased uptake in other patients with various types of pituitary tumors.
