Abstract

The health of women and their babies are closely linked. For women with heart disease, fetal and neonatal complications are common, occurring in 15-20% of pregnancies, with preterm delivery and small-for-gestational-age babies being the most common. Occasionally, fetal and neonatal complications can be serious, resulting in lifelong effects on the child and the families. However, these serious fetal and neonatal events (SFE) have not been examined in detail. The objective is to determine the incidence of SFE in women with heart disease.
