Abstract

Counseling pregnant people with diabetes regarding planned mode of delivery is challenging due to risk of dystocia. We assessed odds of impacted delivery (shoulder dystocia and cesarean due to active phase or second stage arrest of labor) in nulliparous pregnancies complicated by diabetes and describe the maternal and neonatal morbidity of impacted deliveries compared to SVD and scheduled cesarean.
