Abstract

Intradialytic hypotension is a common clinical complication that patients on renal replacement ther apy encounter during their hemodialysis sessions. It is associated with decreased dialysis compliance and increased morbidity in patients on chronic hemodialysis. Both patient-specific factors (autonomic insufficiency, cardiac disease) and dialysis treatment-related factors (ultrafiltration, increased core body temperature) are thought to have significant causative roles. We conducted a prospective cross-sectional study, to explore the magnitude of the problem; the inci. dence of Intradialytic hypotension, and its risk factors in thrice weekly chronic hemodialysis patients.
