Abstract

Background: The incidence of contralateral breast cancer (CBC) is reported as 0.4-0.7% per year following initial primary tumour diagnosis. Despite this low risk, use of contralateral prophylactic mastectomy (CPM) is rising. This population-based study examines clinical outcomes in a cohort of CBC patients in Northern Ireland (NI).
