Abstract

Incestuous behavior, when viewed from a behavioral systems perspective, is most often perceived as a self-reinforcing, addicting, and escalating behavior. Underlying incestuous behavior are patterns that are dictated by the perpetrator's object-relations fixation or regression. These regressed or fixed object-relations strivings comprise major themes or scenarios that precipitate, escalate, and sustain the incestuous behavior. The author describes seven major themes or scenarios that stimulate the perpetrator's sexual expression of dysfunctional object-relations stirrings.
