Abstract
This article tries to approach the different conflicts that are present in the Royal Commentaries through the concept of loyalty. For this effect, the essay seeks to analyze one of the most conflictive events narrated in the Royal Commentaries, the «encomenderos’s war», which occurred in Peru between 1544-1548, an event that clearly puts on the table, not only the loyalties of the historical characters included in this story, but the own loyalties of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega.
