Abstract

Inbound and outbound logistics encompass the planning and scheduling activities that accompany the flow of goods between an enterprise and its external associates, i.e., its suppliers and customers. The term “goods” relates to the production factors to be employed. In addition to physical goods, however, the term “goods” also encompasses services and financial resources. Moreover, employee recruitment is also encompassed under inbound logistics.
