Abstract

Reports on InAs whispering gallery mode (WGM) lasers operating in the mid-infrared up to 150 K. The current distribution within the structures and its influence on laser operation has been investigated, revealing a nontrivial picture of the current flow in these devices. The current density distribution within the active region has been simulated and compared with that for the common Fabry-Perot stripe laser.
