Abstract

The microdialysis technique has been coupled with a glucose biosensor to obtain an apparatus for in vivo continuous glucose monitoring. Different microdialysis probes, consisting of a single hollow fiber, have been tested to evaluate their performances when used as sampling systems inserted subcutaneously. The glucose biosensor is obtained by placing a nylon net with immobilized glucose oxidase onto the platinum electrode of two different electrochemical cells generally used as a detector for liquid chromatography.
