Abstract

The infrared laser effects (lambda = 904 run, frequency = 1,6 KHz, intensity 3 W/cm2/min) on in vitro cultured fibroblasts were tested by varying several different parameters such as the sample - source distance, the daily exposure time and the number of days of irradiation. By varying the daily irradiation time no significant effects were obtained; the varation of the sample - source distance showed that the best stimulating results can be obtained at the distance of 10 cm. Moreover, an increase of the cell number with respect to controls was obtained when the irradiation was repeated for a period up to 12 days.
