Abstract

Pteromalus puparum (L.) (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae), an endoparasite of lepidopteran pupae, was successfully reared in vitro from egg to adult. Emerging adults mated and produced normal progeny. Hemolymph from a host and stage (Heliothis zea (Boddie) larvae) not normally parasitized by Pteromalus was used as the growth medium. Hemolymph concentrations 25% or lower would not support complete development of Pteromalus.
