Abstract

Angela Leighton is professor of English at the University of Hull. She is author of, among other books, Shelley and the Sublime: An Interpretation of the Major Poems (1984), Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1986),and Victorian Women Poets: Writing against the Heart (1992). She is writing a book on form and the aesthetic in nineteenthand twentieth-century poetry.
