Abstract

Several articles in this month's issue of the Journal advance what is known about attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Articles by Molina et al. ( p. 484 ) and Jensen et al. ( p. 501 ) provide new analyses of the landmark NIMH Collaborative Multisite Multimodal Treatment Study of Children With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (MTA). In the original MTA study, 579 children between 7 and 9.9 years old were randomized to 14 months of either systematic medication management with methylphenidate, multicomponent behavior therapy, combined medication plus behavior therapy, or community care.
