Abstract

In this study, a novel one-pot procedure is introduced and the synthesizing process of PANI from aniline monomers is performed in PEG-modified epoxy to prevent agglomeration. Different concentrations of aniline monomer, ammonium peroxydisulfate and camphorsulfonic acid were considered in synthesis process to reach appropriate corrosion resistance. FTIR and TEM were employed to characterize epoxy/PANI–CSA coatings. Corrosion resistance of coatings were evaluated by Salt spray, OCP measurements and cyclic potentiodynamic polarization and EIS technique up to 134days after immersion into 3.5wt.% NaCl. An optimal concentration of aniline which presents best anticorrosive performance among the investigated groups is introduced.
