Abstract

Introduction: The in situ simulation modality is being used to train professionals. Objectives: Conduct literature searches on the main contributions of in situ simulation to the training of professionals in the health area and for hospital institutions. Methodology: Integrative review, with a qualitative approach. A search was carried out for full-text articles published from January 2017 to December 2022, in the BVS and Pubmed. Eighteen articles were selected for analysis. Results: 3 categories emerged: 1. Contributions of in situ simulation for health professionals; 2. For hospital institutions and 3. For healthcare users. Discussion: The in situ simulation brought several benefits, such as better preparation of professionals and the team, reduction of hospital costs and improvement of care processes that involve patient safety. Conclusion: The studies showed that in situ simulation is being characterized as a good training strategy for professionals who make up the multidisciplinary health team.
