Abstract

A novel BiVO4 functionalized cotton fabric was prepared by in situ technology at room temperature. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) of BiVO4 were applied to analyze its crystalline structure, morphology, chemical component. The photocatalytic activity of BiVO4 was investigated by degradation of methylene blue (MB) solution. BiVO4 functionalized cotton fabric was characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS). Results showed that the prepared BiVO4 had significant photocatalytic activity. BiVO4 functionalized cotton fabric had a UPF value of 43.66, demonstrating excellent ultraviolet protection property. In addition, BiVO4 functionalized cotton fabric possessed commendable self-cleaning performance.
