Abstract

AbstractThe electrochemical reactions of Fe(CN) and Fe(CN) on basal plane graphite electrode were studied using cyclic voltammetry and in situ Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) reflection spectroelectrochemistry. The IR band near 2080 to 2067 cm−1 was found to be an intermediate for Fe(CN) reduction and the band near 2058 to 2067 cm−1 for Fe(CN) oxidation. The possible mechanisms of reduction and oxidation and structure of intermediate are discussed.
