Abstract
The in-service training programs currently being conducted by the Michigan Division of Services for the Blind are being directed to the medical and para-medical staffs in alternate care facilities. The goal of the program is to educate the staff in understanding, assisting, and working with visually impaired residents. The program consists of three segments: 1) skill training of staff, 2) patient census, and 3) patient interview. A standardized package has been developed and is available to any interested person.
