Abstract

The purpose of this study was to search the direction for integrating knowledge based on narrative. Recently the discussion about knowledge convergence or integration has been emphasized for the purpose of restructuring the world of discipline in the science. For the achieving the research goals, we first search the meaning and nature of narrative, and bridge narrative to knowledge integration. Since 1980, the various study about narrative has been discussed along the value and importance of the narrative. In this article, we checked the methods of knowledge integration and four meanings of narrative: discipline-based integration, language and literature-based integration, theme-based integration, and issue-based integration. These modes of knowledge integration are transformed into tool logic, storytelling, core subjects, and discourse mode based on narrative.
