Evidence-Based Answer The use of intraarticular hyaluronic acid (IA-HA) injections in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) decreases symptoms and may delay or prevent total knee replacement (TKR), especially in patients younger than 50 years or older than 80 years (SOR: B, metaanalysis of RCTs and case series).
