Abstract
Taking off from Nina Coltart's declaration that "in an ideal world, all psychotherapists would have a garden," this paper explores some of the main concepts in Coltart's work, such as vocation, giftedness, faith, love, and attention. All these concepts center on the idea that psychoanalysis is a mysterious process. The author delineates the connections between Coltart's thought and that of Wilfred Bion, as well as its resonance with a number of other authors, to show how her contributions remain fresh and challenging for contemporary psychoanalysis.
