Abstract
The relationship between in-library use and circulation data is critical to decisions concerning discarding and relegation to secondary storage-and, therefore, to library space costs. An inexpensive and unobtrusive statistical technique is presented for examining the relationship and also a measure of relative intensity of in-library use. Statistical evidence indicates a strong positive correlation between the two types of usage.
