Abstract

Background: Emergency department (ED) Service Assistants (SA) at a Danish University Hospital, are part of the cardiac arrest team and trained in performing CPR several times a year. Outside the ED CPR is delegated to SAs who only participate in the mandatory training once every three years. All SAs have to pass an e-learning resuscitation program once every year. Data from the past three years from AEDs located outside the ED indicate below standard performance of CPR, by SAs. Data from defibrillators at the ED do not exist for comparison.
