Introduction

COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 originated from Wuhan, China and led to a pandemic that has resulted in more than 4.13 million deaths worldwide. Numerous short- and long-term complications involving almost all organ systems have been reported in COVID-19 patients. The same study observed higher mortality (60.7% vs 38.6%; p = 0.04) in patients with these complications [4].
