In Hope of Demolishing the Myth of the Agreeing Crusoe

Abstract

I briefly argue we must rethink our myth of man being free and alone and in a state of nature (Locke and the like) as Crusoe was, which myth then goes on to say that Crusoe, in this state, freely and of his own will and by reason, entered into an agreement to live in a society. I try to think a few thoughts in this paper to make others feel prompted to notice the defects of this Myth of the Agreeing Crusoe, that they would revise the myth so that we might have one that is more useful to help women and children.
