Abstract

MEDICINE in Dublin has always been associated with the name of Trinity College, where the Chair of Physic was established in 1662, when Dr. John Stearne was "constituted and elected public Professor of Medicine in the University of Dublin for and during his natural life."To celebrate the tercentenary of this event a meeting was held in the College at the end of last year, when eminent speakers from both Europe and America spoke on the history and future of medical education.
