Abstract

In the Old Church a Christian's duty is to assist human beings in situations of danger and sorrow, especially members of the church, even if health and life are afflicted. Christians believe in being part of God's plan of salvation. Emergency assistance is structured and uses own ressources and those of the well organised Roman Empire. Since modern pastoral care for emergency situations also involves risks, it must be strategically planned and organized.
