Abstract

Linda Hurley, president and CEO of CODAC Behavioral Health Care, is on the verge of launching yet another trailblazing treatment program. A fully integrated “health and wellness” facility, it will offer opioid treatment program services along with primary care, mental health services, dental care and an on‐site full‐service pharmacy, as well as a peer recovery community center and social services. Hurley's move is no surprise to people in the substance use disorder field, as she has been leading the way for decades from her base in Rhode Island, a small state where many innovations are possible, but only Hurley has set a standard for all other states. So it's no surprise that many organizations line up to give her awards. Most recently, the National Council for Mental Wellbeing will recognize her during their conference next week, where she will give a speech to accept the organization's “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
