Abstract

Last week, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued state‐by‐state overdose data, and the state with the biggest increase in deaths is Oregon, which decriminalized drug possession three years ago (see Drug decriminalization measure in Oregon would not increase treatment funding, ADAW Dec. 7, 2020; https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adaw.32905). That measure was supported by the Drug Policy Alliance and others who have been silent on whether there is a connection. The CDC's interactive dashboard contains useful information for all states.
